...who then inspired me to do this, albeit a little too late.

It all started with Rodarte's hole-y sweater...

Following the Footsteps of Men

This pair of pants came with the blazer I wore a few posts back. Initially I didn't quite know what to do with them. So I just threw on some monochromatic pieces. Well now I love the end result so much that I'm planning to wear this out on my next trip to Chapel St.

I bought the pieces that make up this whole outfit from just a single trip to the Camberwell market. I couldn't believe that I got to snag this pair of leather pants. They were made of the most unusual leather, kinda a cross between suede and nubuck. And the grey is just to die for. I was initially pretty reluctant to get them, considering I couldn't see myself wearing them without a mirror, but the moment the seller told me her price, I knew they were mine. And I went home happy and recharged for another arduous week in school to face my battle with accounting.

This is what happens when I get bored. Either I sketch a few outfits on paper, or try them out myself. One of these days I'd do a proper sketch and scan it.

All footwear are available at THE ROSENROT

I bought this dress at Smith St. last week. Dresses don't usually catch my attention, but this one did as soon as I laid my eyes on it. I thought it looked like an Audrey Hepburn sheath dress meets Margiela/Balmain (big shoulders, yup, I so love them) meets Miu Miu apron (but a lot better in this case). Then again this dress looks eeriely familiar. I thought I might have seen it in Warehouse on my sourcing trips.

I ordered this rare NIN 1994 tour shirt from Ebay. It's a men's size XL, but I totally love the print. And I wore it to school today. Felt so awesome in it.

A Blazer Story

Aside from shoes, I seem to have an obsession with outerwear, mainly leather jackets and blazers. I pay a lot of attention to the details of a blazer, such as lapels, buttons, length, double/single breasted, colour, etc. A few weeks after I acquired the red blazer, the photos from Prada Fall '09 were posted on style.com. I must say they look eeriely similar, especially the lapels. I know they can't be seen clearly, but I will post up more pictures of the red blazer soon.

The A/W '09 range is simply amazing, especially when compared to the last crumply, hole-y whathaveyous of the current season

High Heels Addiction

Surfing through Endless or Zappos is like walking down a massive shopping mall that probably covers two or three zipcodes. I can spend hours just looking at the shoes available online. Well I guess that tells you how much of a shoe addict I am, not to mention how often I keep writing about shoes. So if you're a casual passerby who are as crazy about shoes as me, you'll feel right at home.

Now the shoes above are sold at Endless. I picked them out, not so randomly, because aside from being gorgeous, they are not your typical off-the-rack kind of shoes (well at least in the non-couture range). With the exception of Annie's Forever pumps (which is so adorable and Dorothy-ish), everything else reflects today's trends for heels. Every brand wants to create that sky-high stilettos that towers over everyone else.

How they come about is always from the designers (eg. Marc Jacobs, Alexander Mcqueen, Louboutin, Nicholas Kirkwood etc) who one fine day decided to create these dangerous high heels that no podiarist condone. And season after season the heel height just keep increasing, so much so that models tumbled and fall on the runways. You can see a list of them here. I tried on the infamous Prada Spring '09 shoes myself and I could barely stand, let alone take a step. Their reason for doing so? Women are demanding for bigger, higher, taller and stronger heels that will make them feel oodles sexier.

And so the trend trickles down from the runway to high street fashion, right down to the mainstream level at varying degrees.

I say, bring on the heels, but no more than 4 inches WITHOUT platform please, just as long as I don't end up looking ridiculous, or worse, like a stripper.
